Information

Zone entrance: A door at the Lowest part of Isle of Discord - Barren Sky

Map: This zone share the same geometry than the lower part of Palace of the Awakening

Requirement: NONE

Goal:

  • Claymore quest line
  • Access to the x4 part of Ascent of the Awakening.

This x2 raid results in access for AOA x4 through the quest Audience with the Guardians [65] from the NPC outside the door. NB. Only one player on the raid can gain all the symbols necessary for access quest to be completed as only one drops from each named mob.

1st Floor: Slashing.
2nd Floor: Magic and Mental
3rd Floor: Cold
4th Floor: Heat

Item to spawn: Ornate Slashed Eye
Mob Health: 440,000
Special Attacks: Slashing Talon - Slashing Barrage DOT (5000 dmg), Corrosive Stream - ST Poison attack - Damages weapon of target
Drops: Charm of the Slashing Claw, Symbol of the Slashing Talon

Ancient of the Flapping Wing [67 Epic x2]

Item to spawn: Ornate Winged Eye
Mob Health: 615,000
Special attacks: Flapping Wing (single target crushing DD), Windrider (single target crushing DD with low damage), Shredding Talons (single target slashing DD with 80 second recast)
Drops: Charm of the Flapping Wing, Symbol of the Flapping Wing

Ireth The Cold [70 epicx2]

Item to spawn: Ornate Ice Eye
Mob Health: 950,000
Special Attacks: Icy Breath - Frontal Cold Breath DOT (2500 dmg) every 25 seconds, Tail Lash - Rear Crushing tail attack (2500 dmg) every 65 seconds
Drops: Cap of the Icy Breath, Symbol of the Icy Breath

Sharti of The Flame [70 Epic x2]

Item to spawn: Ornate Fire Eye
Mob Health: 680,000
Special Attacks: Breath of Fire - Frontal Heat Breath DOT (5000 dmg) every 25-35 seconds - Every person (including pets) hit by this AOE generates 2 heroic adds, Tail Lash - Rear Crushing tail attack (3500 dmg) every 65 seconds
Drops: Symbol of the Fire Breath

Walkthrough:

On entering zone slaughter mobs on the first level until you get the eye (regular chest drop) to activate the named. The mobs repop so stay on your toes. You can save time here if any of your players have an eye from previous visits to the zone (they are trade-able so also available on the broker if you have more plat than patience).

To activate the named right-click the effigy & place the item. The first named is slow to spawn so don't be too impatient and get caught out. Prophet of the Slashing offers no real obstacles for a reasonable group.

Now move up the wall – but send your tank first as there are roamers at the top and you may have to fight straight away.

Clear the floor until you get the next eye then repeat the effigy process here for Ancient of the Flapping Wing. Again no real drama here apart from kick back so either fight in the water around the central atrium or drag the mob into one of the alcoves (handily they are lined with nice soft cushions).

Up the wall to level 3 now – and get your party to put on their cold resists. Don't carry on up the wall to level 4 here, but head west through the corridor and make your way to the next wall. If you have the next eye already you can train to the wall as the mobs all de-aggro once you're on it.

Up here clear a path to the lift through the middle room. On the lift together as there is a fight at the top, then clear the area of trash & use the eye to spawn Ireth the Cold. This is a ranged fight – so no melee or dumbfire pets etc. During the fight level 67 heroic Ice Dervish will come to its aid.

Now head back down to the wall you skipped before. Up now and head east to the final named (you might want to get the tank to pull the roamers down and fight them on level 3 before the whole raid goes up the wall). Up on the lift and keep all the raid close together beside one of the outside posts so as to only pull one group at the top. Clear the floor of trash to give yourself room to fight then spawn Sharti in the usual way.

Sharti needs your tank with heat resists & spawns 2 x heroic blobs every 35-45 seconds for each person who is inside AE range (including MT, so you cannot avoid to get some through the fight), so stay at max-range & no melee, dumbfire pets etc. When the heroics spawn have your melee fighters target them through the MA, while your MT & all ranged DPS stay on Sharti.
