Talk:Healing

From RaidWiki

I thought id post some of my experiences as a healer ive been raiding since T5 all the way up to tarinax in T7.

Stacking

Something I noticed you have nothing on stacking issues. Which can be quite important. Single target reactive heals (cleric) dont stack and when you have many clerics on a raid it can be a big problem. There are 2 main issues with this.

  • 1 - Wasted resources

For example

cleric_1 casts a reactive on MT, a few seconds later cleric_2 casts a reactive on MT.

cleric_1's sees his reactive heal wear off (its been overwriten) so casts it again. cleric_2's sees his reactive heal wear off (its been overwriten) so casts it again. Both clerics get stuck in a never ending loop. Instead of doing any usefull healing you have 2 clerics fighting over whos reactive stays on top.Ive seen it many times when people arent paying attention. People can drain down their power quite quickly this way.

  • 2: - Nobody casting direct heals

This used to happen to us back in T6 when we pulled a mob and we would wipe to trash. We had a raid of 1 shaman + 1 druid (if we were lucky) then 4-6 clerics. All our clerics would be busy casting reactive heals on inc. The MT would recieve practically no backup from direct heals and die.

We generally assign 1 cleric to single target reactives on the MT for the raid to avoid any of these problems.

Reactives on inc

We always preward / reactive our tanks to minimise the damage on inc. This can in some cases be very usefull as mobs arent debuffed yet and the MTs need all the help they can get with the initial high damage output mobs are doing. Its very rare we have a healer go down.

"During pull please dont use reactive spells becouse they generate agro. So right after the first hit mob gonna agro you. "

There are ways to get round this. 1 From personal experience, make sure you are behind the MT with the mob in front of the MT. That way the mob has to pass the MT before it gets to you. The MT should have time to taunt before the mob gets close to you. 2 have someone else pull like a monk with tsunami and have the MT taunt the mob off.
